just finished watching a sad real life crime case in the.. states i think. (discovery channel)
this old man went out to work one day and found his wife missing. they were already in their 60s. for one whole year the husband, sherrifs, investigators and the fbi worked closely but couldnt find the culprit. the wife was abducted for a ransom but wasnt clearly led on how to pay up for the exchange. devastated himself, he was still suspected for being the culprit for months. finally after a year, it revealed that a fellow church member (also a old man) had kidnapped the wife for money to pay off debts and money he stole from the church. but when he knew he couldnt run away because the wife had already seen who he is, he buried her, alive.
alive?!
and this culprit tried to act as a concerned friend trying to help the broken husband time and again to find the 'culprit'. where is his conscience? he only confessed after many lies he told which the police managed to see through and stressed him to confess.
the poor couple lived together for 43 years in a small town, going to church for prayers and having breakfast with each other daily.. and suddenly she was taken away from him.. brutally.
the husband was in tears when he said he would pray that God would help him forgive and forget that 'friend' who murdered his wife.. and that his wife is in the hands of God.
but it was all so obvious that he went through such pain.
what touched me the most is that he mentioned..
he always believed that he would see his wife again.
what faith he held onto. this incident happened around.. 1934 if im not wrong. and now he should be with his wife too, i hope. if its true, then they would cherish the eternity they have together.
how sad to have someone taken away from you so suddenly and abruptly. what did they do to deserve that? why did the poor old lady have to go through being buried alive?
sigh.
how evil can the heart of mankind get.
